Hervey Bay is one of the few places on Australia's east coast that has a north facing beach and beacause it is protected by fraser Isl;and on the seaward side this beach is also a calm water beach popular with families, wind and kite surfers, small boat sailors, fishermen and the like. There is 16 kilometres of espalande that follow the waterfront around and here you can stay in a number of holiday apartments, motels or resorts. Most of these overlook the beach and all are within a short walk. The esplanade is also the best place to find trendy little alfresco cafes or excellent restaurants to add that little bit of cosmoplitan charm to your holiday.
